PURPOSE:To provide clear guidelines for resident selection, process and criteria.
POLICY:
Eligible candidates are those who are graduates of LCME-accredited medical schools in the United States or Canada, colleges of Osteopathic Medicine in the United States accredited by the American Osteopathic Association, graduates of medical schools outside the United States and Canada who meet one of the following qualifications: (1) have received a current valid certificate from the Educational commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, and (2) have a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a U.S. licensing jurisdiction.Annually the program, through the Residency Executive Committee, establishes minimum criteria for selection and the criteria for developing the rank order list.
