| The
fMRI organization gives UIUC undergraduates interested in pursuing
an MD/PhD the skills and tools that they will need in order to become successful
applicants to MD/PhD programs. This will be accomplished through a variety
of mechanisms--many of them, in conjunction with the activities of the UIUC
Medical Scholars Program, one of the largest MD/PhD programs in the country.
fMRI members will serve as a support network to each other and will
have the opportunity to explore what is involved in pursuing dual degrees
and careers as physician-scientists.
