Presentation Categories


We encourage you to participate in one of these categories. Each category will be judged and awards will be presented at the end of the Research Symposium.

De-identifying Health Information: Please see the web site from the NIH regarding Protected Health Information. The site lists 18 elements that could be used to identify an individual or the individual's relatives, employers, or household members. Any information pertaining to these 18 should be removed from the poster or case presentation. If you have any questions regarding the application of these, please contact Linda Moore.

In addition, Carle has provided us with a quick reference guide for HIPAA Privacy information.

NOTE: We are giving presenters in the oral presentations and poster categories the choice of being included in the judging competition. Please answer the question on the abstract submission page regarding the judging. If you do not choose, you will NOT be included in the competition.

Posters

All posters will be accepted as long as a faculty advisor has collaborated and approved the poster.

  • Pre-Clinical Research (Basic Science) Posters
  • Clinical Case Report (Vignette)/Systematic Reviews Posters
  • Social Science/Humanities/International Health/Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Posters
  • Clinical Research Posters

Oral Presentations

Oral presentations for students and residents are on a first-come basis. Students and residents will be judged separately.

  • Pre-Clinical Science Oral Presentations
  • Clinical Case Report (Vignette) Oral Presentation

Abstract submission deadline (for posters and oral presentations) is Tuesday, April 3, 2012. Registration is required even if you are going to present.
