Longitudinal Clinical Experience

Longitudinal Clinical Experience

The LCE is the playground in which the M2 student will learn how to apply knowledge gained through the expert & small group sessions to actual patients in the clinical setting. Students are paired up 1-on-1 with a practicing primary care physician located in east central IL. The student will spend 10 half-days in his/her preceptor's clinic over the course of 8-months. Each visit has specific goals, objectives, and assignments that progressively build upon the previous visits. The student will gain an increasing level of comfort and proficiency with history-taking, examination skills, beginner diagnosis skills, and communication skills (both written documentation and verbal presentation). All questions regarding LCE should first be directed to the LCE director.
