Image Number 111 - Kidney, glomerulonephritis, diffuse, proliferative

Glomerulonephritis has many causes. The salient feature here is the large leukocytic infiltrate in the glomerulus. Such a glomerulus is referred to as hypercellular. Because of the leukocytic infiltrate, it is defined as an inflammation, hence the suffix -"itis" in the word glomerulonephritis.
