Image Number 027 - Hemangioma, small intestine

Hemangiomas are benign and are found in 5 different histological types. This particular hemangioma is a cavernous hemangioma, so-called because of its large cavernous spaces filled with RBCs. These spaces are lined by normal endothelium. The aggregate of vessels lies within a connective tissue matrix.
